Introduction

The Chinese Food Festival returned to Pottersfield Park in 2019 for 3 days of celebration of Chinese food culture. There was plenty of food on offer, with vendors including Mei Ume, Chilli Legends, Crosstown Doughnuts, Master Wei, Yun, Buy & Bite, Ricebrothers, Ugly Dumplings, Miss Teppanyaki, Wheelcake Island, Jiaba and more, and the Jiangxiaobai Baijiu Bar was back in action serving up the traditional Chinese spirit.

Visitors were also invited to take a class at The CFF Cookery School to learn the skill of dumpling construction. With traditional Chinese performances on show and Hanfu clothing to explore, there was plenty to keep you going in between all that eating.

Challenge

The challenge presented by the Chinese Food Festival boiled down to a large number of personnel on a concentrated site next to the capitals most iconic photo opportunity. This presented logistical and crowd management issues that WAP oversaw, ensuring a smooth build, live and break phase of the event.

While the site presented difficulties for access the overall impact of delivering a food festival in such a prestigious locations was a challenge WAP were only too happy to take on.
