Make More Festival

On Sunday we visited Make More Festival in Victoria Park. Unfortunately it was torrential rain so we took refuge at the Beehive Talk with Bermondsey Street Bees where we learnt everything from the workings of a beehive to the processes behind the making of supermarket honey. We then ventured over to the East End Film Festival cinema where we watched some of the award winning short films from local schools where teachers had covered a variety of topics with the children and created amazing mini sets and stories with iStop Motion.

Although there was a schedule of live music, there was a huge variety of creative activities which was great to see in such a popular London Park. There was opportunity to take art, cookery, survival, pottery and woodwork classes alongside a range of creative talks.

Art and Craft in public spaces is a fantastic way of engaging with the whole community creating social activity that brings people together and putting down their phones! It’s also a fantastic opportunity for skilled workers to share their skills and sell their art/ craftwork.
